Wallet.
Today i left my wallet on the bus. I have 3 reasons as to why whoever finds it. should give it back. 1. When you touch the wallet, you will realise it is as soft as a cloud. i’ve never touched a cloud. when i think of touching a cloud, i touch my wallet. this thought process is null and void until my wallet is in my possession. 2. there is a photo of a half-asain, half-english boy in...
Museums.
we went away. on the drive home, neither of us said anything. 10 hours of very little. we were kites flying in opposite directions attached to strings held by one hand. i guess sometimes you have to grow apart to keep growing together. thats the best thing about museums. in a museum everything stays right where it is. nobody moves, nothing is different. the only thing that would be different in a...
i heard you like polaroids so i put a polaroid in your polaroid so you could look at a polaroid while you look at your polaroid
Heart
“we all have the potential to fall in love a thousand times in our lifetime. It’s easy. The first girl I ever loved was someone I knew in sixth grade. Her name was Missy; we talked about horses. The last girl I love will be someone I haven’t even met yet, probably. They all count. But there are certain people you love who do something else; they define how you classify what love is...
I bought you a toaster for christmas. you then didn’t end up moving out of home, instead you’re moving to the united states of america, so you no longer need the toaster. So i went to chatswood yesterday to take the toaster back, and the silly lady told me they were no longer selling that kind of toaster. so now my kitchen has two toasters. i can’t eat toast. it has wheat in...
would like to sleep here, 3 nights a week.
i found 17 stickers, that look exactly that, well actually, that’s the sticker. that exact red circle with that exact font. I stuck that sticker everywhere today. some people appreciated it, some didn’t. to the person whose shoulder temporarily had a red “HELLO THERE” sticker after my mingling about, lighten up, it’s a friendly gesture. i didn’t throw your...
Relaxation.
Who sleeps, really? if you’re a proper adult person in the 21st century, how can you relax, at all? I tried all day yesterday, but really, my mind keeps churning. “what if this thing happens, what if that thing happens, what if nothing happens, what if they all happen together, what if i lose my job, my job is no where near home, but what if i lose it”. my mind is a hive of...
You asked to take three photos of me, I said yes.
You look lovely
a person who has good thoughts cannot ever be ugly. you can have a wonky nose and a crooked mouth and a double chin and stick out teeth, but if you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely
never ending, always ending, happy ending, ever after, done forever, done without thinking, feeling, feeling sorry, feeling good, feeling something real, real love, real world, real girls, all the real girls, powerpuff girls, the power of myth, mythical creatures, creatures of the night, nighttime, bed time, time moves back, moves slowly, slow runner, run away, away we go, up, up, and away, up and...
You are a tourist.
when i met you, i wasn’t inclined to tell anyone what was going on between us. people don’t go to psychiatrists and pay good money to talk at length about how happy they are. talking can spoil it. as a rule you don’t settle down at the end of the day with a beer or orange juice or dairy farmers yummy milk and tell your friend the particulars of how you lucked out and how well the day and the week...
the complete life's little instruction book.
When i was away i found this 6cm tiny book, filled with the 10 instructions you need to live a happy life:
1. Take someone bowling 2. Strive for excellence, not perfection. 3. Pray not for things, but for wisdom and courage. 4. Be tough minded but tenderhearted 5. Use seat belts. 6. Be punctual and insist it on others. 7. Avoid negative people/ 8. Be original. 9. Be neat. 10. Give people a second...
Sleep.
i’ve always been up before 8am, regardless how late i put my head to rest the night or even early morning before. i could think of nothing worse than waking up past 11am and having minimal day left, and minimal light left, even if the sun hasn’t fully risen yet. however, the last three days i have woken up in a room with those neat little swift black out blinds, making the room...
oh.
“how can one be expected to march full hands wide open into an interpersonal relationship based on no common ground. How silly would that be? the issue, however, lies with the fact that where shared obstacles and interests might be enough material to last the star-crossed lovers and hetero life mates of the carefully edited and encapsulated multiverse of film, literature, and story for the...
Knowledge
you want to know if i still love you, that’s all anyone wants from anyone else, not love itself, but the knowledge that love is there, just like the new or fairly filled batteries, in the torch, in the emergency kit, in the hallway or in the bottom of my kitchen draw. you just want the knowledge. right now, i dislike the knowledge more than walking into woolies to an empty milk aisle....
Ten most difficult words to translate.
Mamihlapinatapei From Yagan, the indigenous language of the Tierra del Fuego region of South America. This word has been translated in several ways in English, always implying a wordless yet meaningful look shared by two people who both desire to initiate something but are both reluctant to start.
Jayus From Indonesian, meaning a joke so poorly told and so unfunny that one cannot help but...
Girls like mysterious guys
“ Now I don’t know a ton about girls, I’ll be the first to admit it. I don’t know if they like being hit on, if size matters, or where they pee out of. It’s a mystery like the bermuda triangle, but one thing I do know is that girls love a mysterious adventure.
This is why when I’m out on a date and things are getting a little stale, I will pay the waiter $40 to come up to the table and...
Werds.
i just had a conversation with my neighbour and i just realised never to use words to big for the subject. don’t say “infinitely” when you mean “very”, otherwise you’ll have no word left when you want to talk to the same person about something infinite. don’t say it was “delightful”, make the person you’re showing off too say...
The Forgotten Dialect of the Heart by Jack Gilbert
a bit of texture is a treat on a wednesday
BANDTOBAND
I’ve been playing google, going from page to page for about a half hour and found something very interesting. well, something very interesting to me. anyone else probably has much more interesting things to be interested in, everyone else probably.
I began searching for bands in relation to Ratt, and after a few searches, i noticed a common link in every one, common links come...
It’s a lucky person that gets to spend time figuring you out. there are many facets to your personality that make being with you exciting. some people aren’t up to the challenge of getting to know a delightfully complicated person, like yourself, which works well, as it leaves more time for me to enjoy, you.
Poems.
a tiny poem, that has not been written, but stamped.
MERRY CHRISTMAS
another present, for you.
Coca-Cola
I just some how stumbled across the annual Coke report, written by Roverto Goizueta, i can’t pronounce his last name, i’ve tried three times, however, i can tell you he is clever. “Not long ago, we came up with an interesting set of facts: A billion hours ago, human life appeared on earth. A billion minutes ago, Christianity emerged. A billion seconds ago, the Beatles changed music forever. A...
when this photo was taken, seven and half days ago, every ring was comfy on each finger. today each ring slid and went wild, falling to the ground multiple times, resulting in the death of one. consistency is never appreciated the way it should be, even when it comes to rings.
I just bought you this shark edition soup bowl for christmas, i bought one of me too, there’s a shark in our soups.
Living Rooms.
A few months ago i was talking about sleep with someone, and it got pretty weird. The idea we actually have pieces of furniture to do it in might seem obvious. But then things get weirder, when inside the houses we live in, we have a room, named after living?
Living rooms are nuts. I, along side my family, sit in our living room 2 times a year, on a casual year. it’s never used....
Waffles.
Waffles aren’t just clouds you can eat for breakfast. Some of the best conversations i’ve enjoyed with people have streamed from a simple waffle. What are you doing? What are you working on? If someone you really like or even somebody you don’t like all that much, asks you that, are you excited to waffle on for an hour describing every detail about how good what it is you are...
Texta
making words on a friday night, with green rings around two fingers because of cheap jewellery from asain ladies, and black ink in nails from doodling.
” you embarked over a little wave and felt widely excited, the others didn’t realise it “
nightmares.
Sweet christ. how much do nightmares suck?
it’s like one day you’re at work and then you’re at home in bed and you’re finally asleep on your sweet little mattress and snuggled by your doona and then a man who has two first names comes running at you with his scissors and steak knife. Then he points at you , “you. yeah, you” and you realise you’re probably doomed....
Hats.
i bought this hat 18 days ago, and it’s fanforkingtastic. it’s a boring colour and it’s made out of felt. the last time i touched felt was when i was in year two and had to do a felt board presentation, by cutting out green trees and sticking them on a blue board of felt. making this hat, really nice, even though it has nothing to do with felt trees.
